We’ve selected these five trends to give you a glimpse of what happened in Milan.

Trend #1: Marble

Marble was a big trend last year and has grown strong in 2015.  It’s a classic architectural element no longer restricted to luxury vanities or floors. Marble also can be spotted in many pieces such as table tops, trays and accent pieces.

Trend #2: Wallpaper

Bold, colorful and playful patterns to be explored by the ones that want to cover their walls with contemporary prints.

Trend #3: Multi-Purpose Design

Furnishing has been used for more than just one purpose for a while. Cattelan Italia showcased multi-purpose cocktail tables that could be broken up or stacked to serve as shelving or side tables.

Trend #4: Memphis Design

Kartell brought nine furniture and home ware items by Italian designer and protagonist of the Memphis movement Ettore Sottsass. It’s another trend spotted in last year’s edition that still strong today.

Trend #5: Classic

The combination of artisanal techniques, precious materials and a look at the past to bring back updated classics is a huge trend, especially if you mix some of these classics with modern furniture and accessories.
